The Topical Tuesdays series sees guest speakers from the St Paul\u2019s Community share their take on the current environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Old Pauline, Ross Fenton (1963-65) grew up in New Jersey, USA and was among the few American students at St Paul’s where he rowed crew and formed lasting ties to the School. He went on to Brown University, continuing to row before leaving to enlist in the US Army in 1967.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fenton served in Vietnam in 1968 and upon returning to the US, was assigned to funeral duty – an experience that profoundly shaped his views on the war. After his discharge, he returned to Brown and became active in the Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) leading the Rhode Island chapter and participating in protest alongside fellow veterans, including Presidential candidate and future Secretary of State, John Kerry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He later built a long career in the oil industry. Now retired he remains engaged with the Veteran community and continues to stay connected to St Paul’s and the rowing world.<\/strong><\/p>\n
