Pupil-Led Spelling Bee Raises £7000 for Bursaries

Over 120 pupils at St Paul’s Prep School competed in a Spelling Bee organised by the Thomas Gresham Committee, raising money for bursaries.

After two intense weeks of heats and semi-finals during the pupils’ lunch breaks, the Grand Finale of the inaugural Spelling Bee took place in the Ichthys Hall last night. Organised by 10 Lower Eighth pupils who are in the Thomas Gresham Committee, all pupils were sponsored and raised money for bursaries at St Paul’s.

Starting with 120 participants, the competition narrowed down to just 19 finalists. Patrick (Upper First) secured victory amongst the First Years, Noah (Lower Second) in the Second Years and Agastya (Lower Third) in the Third Years.

Thanks to this whole school effort, the pupils have collectively raised over £7000!
