St Paul’s School and St Paul’s Prep School have both been named in the Spear’s Schools Index 2026. St Paul’s Prep School is described as “the best primary education in the country”, whilst the senior school ranked amongst the Top 100 Independent Schools in the World.
Spear’s writes that “the school is set in 45 acres of green space next to the Thames, and pupils can take advantage of a range of activities alongside a rigorous academic curriculum, from fencing and rowing to forensics and AI studies.”
They acknowledge that “In an environment where achievement is such a priority, properly organised pastoral care is a necessity. Form tutors, along with Tootoot – a discreet online reporting tool that allows students to raise personal or difficult issues with school leaders – provide support. Additionally, the formal buddy system, where older students mentor younger ones, plays a key role in helping students.” (read more)
Here at St Paul’s, we believe that academic grades and achievements are just the beginning: our interest lies in inspiring our pupils to a genuine love of learning – a curiosity – that’s going to take them way beyond the syllabus. We facilitate pupils’ exploration of their individual interests which stay with them throughout life. Our aim is that our pupils leave as purposeful young people who aim to make a difference in the world.
Thank you to the independent panel of judges and research team for acknowledging our “all-round excellence” in this way.
