Lower Eighth pupils Yunus and Danyal led the way at the VEX Robotics UK National Championship 2026, where they were crowned Tournament Champions and winners of the Excellence Award.
Competing as part of an independent team alongside pupils from Queen Elizabeth Boys’ School, they impressed judges with their technical skill, teamwork and innovation. Their success has earned them an invitation to the 2026 World Championship in St Louis, Missouri this April.
The national competition brings together students aged 8 to 18 who design, build and code robots to tackle complex engineering challenges, completing both autonomous and remote controlled tasks.
There was also outstanding success in the middle school category. The RoboANY team, made up of Alex (Fourth Form), Nathaniel and Yimo (both Upper Third), were named VEX IQ Middle School UK National Champions as Brunel Division Winners. After two demanding days of competition and 12 qualifying matches, they delivered a superb final performance, scoring an impressive 270 points. They too may have the opportunity to compete at the World Championship.
We congratulate all our pupils on their exceptional achievements in this prestigious national event.
